Trichomonas vaginalis is a parasite that causes urethra infections. These infections are common and curable. Female symptoms include foul smelling vaginal discharge, genital itching or painful urination. The CDC recommends that women should be retested within 3 months due to the potential of reinfection by an untreated partner.
